Adhitia Sofyan (32), originaly a Creative Director at an online marketing consultant firm, has been playing acoustic tunes alone in his bedroom in Jakarta when out of curiosity in early 2008 he sent some of his songs to an indie chart on a major local radio. His songs ‘Adelaide Sky’ and ‘Memilihmu’ aired nationwide and got to number 1 at the famous Prambors FM’s Nubuzz Indie chart and stayed there for weeks. His song ‘Adelaide Sky’ was one of the longest songs to stayed at the no.1 position.
From there he started his independent musical journey out of the bedroom. He's been playing in various musical events all over Indonesia. His song Adelaide Sky made it to became an original soundtrack of a big screen movie “Kambing Jantan” written by Indonesia’s well known blogger/writer Raditya Dika, directed also by a well known director Rudi Sudjarwo.
Adhitia also known for releasing his albums online and let people download them for free, giving it an easier spread of his music and brand on the internet. Currently Adhitia has two albums, an official Quiet Down (available in stores) and the unofficial 2nd album Forget Your Plans, which is still in free download mode on his personal blog www.adhitiasofyan.wordpress.com
His recent highlights were playing outside his country at the Esplanade Singapore and won 2 awards from ICEMA, the 1st Indonesian Cutting Edge Music Award as Favorite Singer-Songwriter and Favorite Solo Artist, and performing at Harmoni SCTV, a prestigious music concert held once a month with composer Andi Rianto and his famous Magenta Orchestra.
